Baseball Team Building An Indoor Facility

Written by Bruce Crawford on . Posted in Baseball, DHHS

The Dugout Club has been working hard to raise the funds to build an indoor facility for over a year now.

The Dugout Club and Coach Pete Bartlewski prioritized the indoor facility as the most important investment for the team because it has the biggest impact on the competitiveness of the team.  With weather and light in the pre-sesaon to early season being a limiting factor, it is estimated that the players in our program (middle school, junior varsity, and varsity) will get more than 1,000 additional reps each season.  The facility as planned can be used for hitting, pitching, fielding, and conditioning.  It will also benefit the softball program, especially in the summer and fall.

The final phase of construction will begin Monday, September 22, 2014.  The building should be completed and ready for use withing about 3 weeks. We have involved the Principals at both schools and sought and obtained approval from the DeKalb County School Board.

The team has raised the funds to complete the exterior of the facility and begin to equip the interior, but we are still looking for funds to fit-out the interior.  If you are interested in making a contribution, please reach out to Winston Ledet at
